Only Switzerland will commemorate its relationship with India’s 75 years, according to a Swiss diplomat

Switzerland’s ambassador to India, Ralf Heckner, praised the two nations’ long relationship and noted that his nation was the only one to be commemorating 75 years of friendship.

The event, which was distinguished by a distinctive Swiss Art Night, highlighted the fundamental ideals of harmony, peace, and creative cooperation that have defined this amazing alliance.

Speaking at the occasion, Ambassador Heckner emphasized that India picked Switzerland as its first ally and friend seventy-five years ago, signing a friendship treaty that envisioned enduring peace and unwavering friendship between the two countries.

“We are commemorating 75 years of friendship between India and Switzerland today. India picked Switzerland as the first nation with whom to sign a friendship treaty 75 years ago, and it was stated in that treaty that the two nations shall live in continuous peace and unwavering friendship. Very astute and prescient remarks. Indeed, the world needs more unwavering friendship and permanent peace, added Heckner.

“We are actually not just celebrating 75 years of diplomatic relations, Switzerland is the only country that is celebrating 75 years of friendship with India because India had chosen Switzerland after independence as the first country to sign a friendship treaty with,” he said to ANI.

He said that it was ironic that the Swiss embassy was celebrating peace and goodwill in a world rife with unrest and conflicts.

Therefore, the Swiss embassy is commemorating peace and brotherhood during a time of conflict. Today, everything revolves around it. We are also honoring the Swiss and Indian communities’ cooperation, the speaker said.

According to him, the goal has always been to encourage a spirit of collaboration and joint creativity between the two countries.

“This embassy and the whole Swiss network in India have long aspired to see the Swiss and Indian people collaborate and co-create. The Swiss ambassador wished everyone a nice evening of friendship and peace.

The Swiss Art Night was a suitable illustration of this exceptional alliance. The celebration, dubbed “Switzerland and India in Bloom,” represented the growth of their 75-year partnership.

With a fascinating flower display incorporating the talents of Swiss and Indian floral artisans, the subject of blossoming flowers expressed the spirit of their partnership, he said.

The ambassador of Switzerland emphasized the event’s aim to spread a message of peace and friendship.

“The message of peace and friendship is what we would want to convey today. Considering that they were the goals of the bilateral agreement. Switzerland and India have coexisted in peace and friendship for the last 75 years, he told ANI.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, India and Switzerland have enjoyed warm and friendly ties since India’s independence, based on shared ideals of democracy and the rule of law.
