Pakistan is offered military assistance by China to combat terrorism

Islamabad: Beijing has offered Islamabad assistance in containing terrorism after the deaths of five Chinese nationals in a suicide explosion in Besham, in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region of Pakistan.

Following the tragic incident, Pakistan’s government has been urged by China to provide more protection for its citizens.

Colonel Wu Qian, a spokesman for the China Ministry of National Defense, stated that “the Chinese military is willing to work with the Pakistani side to enhance the capability of the two countries to tackle various security risks and challenges, including terrorist attacks and jointly safeguard regional peace and stability.”

In addition, the spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry asked Pakistan to strengthen security protocols in order to protect Chinese citizens, initiatives, and establishments.

In Islamabad, a Chinese investigative team is also collaborating with the Pakistani authorities to conduct more inquiries into the terrorist incident.

Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Interior, met briefly with the Chinese investigative team on Friday during his visit to the Chinese Consulate in Islamabad.

Official reports claim that Naqvi informed the Chinese team about the current investigation and guaranteed Pakistan’s full assistance in holding those responsible for the horrific crime accountable and bringing them to justice.

“The Besham strike has created new areas for Pakistan and China to collaborate on a military level; they will be addressed and investigated in the days ahead. Political analyst Adnan Shauqat said, “The strategic partnership between the two countries has a strong history.”

The militaries of the two nations have maintained regular, intimate, and high-level interactions, which have produced fruitful results such as cooperative military exercises and professional exchanges, personnel training, equipment sharing, and technical collaboration.

The 36-member PLA Guard of Honor, which escorted the Chinese national flag while marching in the Pakistan Day Parade on March 23, was the most recent demonstration of the two nations’ close relations.

Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, stated, “China opposes all forms of terrorism, firmly supports Pakistan in fighting terrorism and will work with it with an even stronger commitment to do everything possible to project the safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Pakistan.”.
