Rahul Gandhi, the Congressman from Kerala, prays at the Viswambhara temple in Malappuram
During his visit to Kerala on Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid prayers at the Viswambhara temple in Kottakal.
According to the official release from the Congress party, Gandhi also saw a performance of the ancient dance genre “Kathakali” at PSV Natyasangham, a center of national renown located in Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal. Gandhi is noteworthy since he was formerly an MP representing Kerala’s Wayanad district.
He was barred from serving in Parliament as an MP after receiving a two-year prison term for defaming the ‘Modi’ surname.
