Russian Missile Attacks Zelenskyy’s Hometown, Killing at Least 3 People and Injuring Dozens, According to A Ukrainian Official

A regional governor reports that a nighttime strike on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih resulted in at least three fatalities and 25 injuries after missiles struck buildings housing civilians.

A five-story residential structure was struck by a cruise missile attack early on Tuesday, according to the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak, and the area was completely destroyed by fire. People were trapped beneath the debris, he said in a Telegram message, and rescue efforts were still taking place.

The destruction of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s hometown is the most recent act of violence in Russia’s conflict in Ukraine, which has been going on for 16 months and is still going strong as Ukrainian troops launch counteroffensive operations using weapons provided by the West in an effort to push the Russians out.

Firefighters were fighting the flames as pockets of fire poked through several smashed windows of a structure, according to pictures from the incident that Zelenskyy shared on his Telegram channel. The surrounding land was covered with burned and damaged automobiles.

He posted on the social media platform, “More terrorist missiles.” “Russian killers are still at war with residential structures, regular cities, and people.”

The aircraft assault was the most recent in a series of attacks by Russian troops overnight that were directed at different regions of Ukraine.

The capital was also under fire on Tuesday, according to the military administration in Kyiv, but the inbound missiles were shot down by air defences, and there were no early reports of any injuries there.
