The Biden administration blames the collapse of the Ukrainian city to Russia on humanitarian delays

WASHINGTON: The Biden administration said on Saturday that Congress’s failure to approve further funding for Ukraine’s war effort was the cause of the country’s military evacuation from Avdiivka.
Saturday saw Ukraine withdraw from Avdiivka before sunrise, marking almost two years to the day after President Vladimir Putin ordered an all-out invasion of the country and the nation’s first significant combat setback since Bakhmut fell in May 2023.

National Security Council spokesman Adrienne Watson stated, “This is the cost of congressional inaction.” “The Ukrainians continue to fight bravely, but they are running low on supplies.”
This Thursday, the Senate approved a measure providing emergency help to Ukraine for $60.1 billion; but, the House of Representatives may not approve the package.
