Two Palestinians are killed by Israeli soldiers close to Jenin: army

Jenin: According to the army and Palestinian media, Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinian males on Saturday at a military station close to the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
According to an army statement, the incident happened when many militants drove up in a vehicle and opened fire on troops stationed at the Salem military post near Jenin’s gate.

“The soldiers, who were pre-positioned due to several similar past incidents, eliminated two terrorists,” according to the army.
Israeli soldiers murdered Mustafa Sultan Ahmed, 22, and Ahmed Muhammad Shawahna, 21, at the military checkpoint, according to the official Palestinian news agency Wafa. Two other people were injured and sent to the hospital.

Wafa said that after refusing medical personnel access to their corpses, Israeli authorities withheld their remains.
An important center for terrorist organizations, Jenin and the nearby refugee camp are often raided by Israeli soldiers.
Since the Israel-Hamas conflict broke out on October 7, there has been an increase in violence in the West Bank, which Israel has controlled since 1967. The violence has been rising for more than a year.
Palestinian sources claim that since October 7, at least 490 Palestinians have been murdered by Israeli soldiers or settlers in the West Bank.
Since Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists launched an extraordinary onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, there has been a state of war in the Gaza Strip.
An AFP count based on official Israeli data put the number of people killed in the incident at 1,170, including Israelis and tourists.
The health ministry of the region reports that at least 34,356 Palestinians have died as a result of Israel’s military onslaught on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, the majority of them being women and children.
