Vivek Ramaswamy Calls for ‘Strategic Clarity’ on Taiwan Issue, Calling it “Vital for US National Security”

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has said that the US maintains a position that denies recognition of Taiwan as a nation and adopts a posture of strategic ambiguity over whether or not it would support the East Asian island against a Chinese invasion. Taiwan should be united with the mainland, by force if necessary, according to Beijing, which views Taiwan as a separatist province. Taiwan, on the other hand, regards itself as wholly different from China.

In light of the rising hostility between the US and China over Taiwan, Ramaswamy said in a statement on Sunday that it is crucial for US national security interests to prevent China from gaining exclusive control of the world’s semiconductor supply chain. As a result, the US should abandon its present position of strategic ambiguity and commit to vehemently defending Taiwan against Chinese annexation until the US achieves semiconductor independence, at which time the US should return to its previous position.

In accordance with the Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program, which is normally utilized for sovereign governments, the Biden Administration this week authorized a military transfer of USD 80 million to Taiwan. China’s official publication responded by claiming that the US had crossed a line that had deadly repercussions.

According to the Vivek campaign, the US now adheres to the One China Policy, which denies Taiwan its independence and takes a position of strategic ambiguity over whether or not it would support Taiwan against invasion. The campaign claimed that “this leads to mutual misunderstanding with China about red lines and raises the risk of major conflict between the US and China, a risk that is heightened in the near term when the entire US economy and modern way of life depend on cutting-edge semiconductors manufactured in Taiwan.”

“While the US strengthens its own military and economic alliances with India, Japan, and South Korea and fortifies our own homeland defense capabilities, including but not limited to a nuclear missile, super-EMP, and cyber defenses,” Ramaswamy said, Taiwan can increase its own military spending to a more sensible four to five of GDP. This is how we can avert a third world war while halting Chinese aggression and advancing crucial long-term US interests. The Republican nominee for president said, “I am the only US Presidential candidate in either major party who has provided a clear vision for how to attain this objective.

A super political action committee connected to Republican presidential contender and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly informed his funders in private that they were behind all of the recent assaults on Ramaswamy, his primary opponent. You have read about him in everything. According to an article in the Politico newspaper, “Every mistake, every 360 he’s undertaking, or 180 he’s going through in life, comes from our inspection and pressure.

The Never Back Down leader told the group of contributors, “So, he’s not going to go through that very well, and that will get worse for him, Jeff Roe.” The quotations come from an audio recording that Politico got from Roe’s address to DeSantis’ donors immediately before the Republican presidential primary debate last month.

At the debate, Ramaswamy, 38, outperformed the other candidates for the presidency. The DeSantis campaign has come under fire from the Ramaswamy campaign for this.

You know you’re on target when DeSantis’s Super Pac campaign, Chris Christie, the New York Times, MSNBC, and the rest of the bipartisan establishment are all attacking you simultaneously. According to Ramaswamy spokesman Tricia McLaughlin, “America witnessed Vivek dominate the debate stage, so it’s no surprise Never Back Down is piling up another $20+ million after Labor Day.

Ramaswamy wouldn’t be able to go past the mountain of dirt hurled at him, Row reportedly informed the benefactors. He will not do well throughout the presidential campaign’s discovery, examination, and decline phases. We are now subjecting him to his examination phase, he added. After Labor Day, Roe said, his campaign against Ramaswamy will pick up steam.
