India records 80 new cases of COVID

Tuesday saw 80 new COVID-19 infections in India, while there were 2,248 active cases overall, according to statistics from the Union health ministry.

The number of cases in the nation increased to 4.49 crore (4.49,92,960) as a result of the new infections. The figures updated at 8 am showed that the death toll remained at 5,31,892.

The health ministry website states that the country’s recovery rate is at 98.81%.

4,44,58,820 persons have recovered from the illness, a significant increase. The percentage of case fatalities was 1.18 percent.

On the ministry’s website, it is stated that the national immunisation campaign has so far delivered 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
