A technical education organization is holding a millet recipe competition with a ₹1 lakh cash prize

New Delhi: Students, faculty members, and support staff from authorized institutions are invited to participate in the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) “AICTE Millet Recipe Unleashing Talent” (AMRUT) millet recipe preparation competition.

The challenge will require the competitors to produce creative but classic cuisine. Recipes in three categories—Starters (breakfast and snacks), Main Course (lunch and dinner), and Desserts and Confectioneries—will be accepted for the competition. These subcategories will be based on Millet Ratio of 70% and above, 50%–70%, and 30–50%.

Teams may use the Google form on the AICTE AMRUT website to submit their application. The nine subcategory nominated teams will get invitations to Delhi for the grand finals. The winners of each subcategory will get ₹1 Lakh in cash as well as certificates.

“The International Year of Millets 2023 was an opportunity to raise awareness of the multiple benefits of millets, from nutrition and health to environmental sustainability and economic development,” said the official announcement from AICTE. This improved the relationship between research and policy, enabled collaborations, inspired stakeholders to take up millets’ production and promotion, and promoted millets’ consumption by the general public.

Qualifications

A minimum of four players, at least one of whom must be a woman, shall make up the team that submits an application for the tournament. Participants have to be enrolled students, faculty members, or support personnel. If the team wants to compete in more than one category, each member will need to complete a separate application.

By January 25, 2024, applicants may submit their applications online. On February 6, 2024, the education body will reveal the identities of the teams that made the short list. The grand finale is scheduled for March 1, 2024, in Delhi.
