Holi 2024: Experts Discuss Who Shouldn’t Watch Holika Dahan, From Pregnant Women To Single Parent Families

On March 25, the country will joyfully and enthusiastically celebrate Holi, one of the most renowned Hindu holidays. On March 24, people will celebrate the Holika Dahan, also known as Chhoti Holi. Holika Dahan has astrological as well as religious significance. This is due to the fact that it makes a lot of people happy, yet certain individuals should not see Holika Dahan. The people who shouldn’t participate in Holika Dahan were identified by astrologer Manohar Acharya. These individuals include newlywed brides, expectant mothers, parents of an only child, a newborn, and a lady and her mother-in-law, according to the astrologer.

1. Newly Married Women: Watching or taking part in Holika Dahan is seen as unlucky for recently married women. Contrary to common assumptions, this may make it more difficult for women to achieve marital pleasure.

2. Pregnant women: Holika Dahan participation is not advised for expectant mothers as it may injure the fetus and cause health issues for the mother.

3. A parent of a single kid: The astrologer advises against seeing Holika Dahan or worshiping Holika if one is the parent of a single child. An elder should participate in the Holika Dahan instead of the parent. According to the beliefs, the location of Holika Dahan gives off the aura of a cremation, and many report feeling unfavorable energy there.

4. Newborn baby: A newborn should not be taken to the Holika Dahan location as it might be harmful for them.

5. Woman and her mother-in-law: Because the Holika fire is seen as a woman’s burning body, a woman and her mother-in-law should likewise abstain from witnessing the Holika Dahan. According to common perception, the woman’s relationship with her mother-in-law may suffer if they watch Holika Dahan together.
