After a 34-year career in the Madhya Pradesh Cadre, Pravesh Sharma decided to start a new business and founded Sabziwala, an online platform that provides fresh produce straight from farmers to customers. He decided to resign voluntarily in 2016 as a result of this action.

When Sabziwala first started operating, it served clients in Dwarka, Delhi, and then moved on to neighboring communities like Janakpuri. Sabziwala began as an online ordering platform and developed into a handy way for clients to get fresh vegetables at reasonable costs from local kirana shops without having to haggle.

According to YourStory, a large amount of Sabziwala’s supply comes straight from farmers’ groups or aggregators spread throughout many areas, including Panipat, Bhaktawarpur near Delhi, Agra, Indore, and Nashik.

Pravesh Sharma is a history major from Delhi University with a plethora of agriculture industry expertise. Before starting his own firm, he was the International Fund for Agricultural Development’s (IFAD) representative for India and the general director of the Small Farmers’ Agri-enterprise Consortium (SFAC).
