Solve & sleep: India’s sleep issue and sexual health are the focus of a new health platform

Due to their many obligations, many individuals neglect to set aside time for relaxation. Sleep deprivation may have a major negative influence on general well-being, yet individuals often overlook this in their rush to complete activities by the deadline.

India is now the second most sleep-deprived nation in the world, after Japan, due to the prevalent issue.

This is what prompted Dr. Sandeep Prabhakaran, senior consultant in urology and andrology at Aster Medicity, and Rajiv Ambat, a techie turned wellness expert and CEO and founder of NuvoVivo Center for Obesity, Lifestyle Disorders and Research, to launch the online platform “SOLVEMy Health” on World Sleep Day (March 15). (An enterprise for sleep, overhaul, longevity, and vitality). The firm wants to provide services all around the world to assist people in enhancing their general well-being, sexual health, and quality of sleep.

“I’ve seen occasions when people’s lack of sleep has caused them to suffer from a variety of illnesses. They realize that getting good sleep is becoming more and more important, yet they still need assistance. And they won’t care about sleep until it gets to a bad point, adds Rajiv.

He states that orthopedic problems or stresses are not the only causes of sleep disturbances. In addition, it may be caused by neurological diseases like narcolepsy and restless legs syndrome, mental and psychological illnesses like anxiety and depression, respiratory issues like obstructive sleep apnea, and dietary inadequacies. For instance, low magnesium levels have been linked to hypertension and sleeplessness.

“Impaired sleep may result in high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and mental health issues if addressed. It’s critical to identify the cause of the sleep problem before taking medication or investing in an orthopedic pillow. At SOLVE, we combine knowledge from many fields, including psychology, pulmonology, neurology, psychiatry, lifestyle medicine, nutrition, and exercise. We find the underlying reasons of sleep disturbances via a team of specialists and provide complete treatments that are customised for each individual, says Rajiv.

Both over the phone and on the internet, consultations are offered.

Following a situational analysis, the patient will be sent to a health professional who specialises in a particular field of medicine. In order to treat obstructive sleep apnea, the platform also offers home-based sleep exams, CPAP machines, weight management strategies, and cognitive behavioral treatment for insomnia.

Make sexual health a priority.

Rajiv and Dr. Sandeep claim that inadequate sleep is another factor contributing to poor sexual health. Numerous businesses cater to sexual pleasure and sell related items, but none address the underlying reason. Because problems like sleeplessness, stress, sadness, hormone fluctuations, and nutritional deficiencies all affect sexual health, an integrated approach is necessary, according to Sandeep.

He asserts that problems with sexual health are a precursor to several illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease (CVD). He continues, “Studies show that people with erectile dysfunction have a 50–60% chance of getting CVD in the future.”

SOLVE’s team of andrologists, gynecologists, psychologists, and lifestyle experts will address male erectile dysfunction, anorgasmia (inability to achieve orgasm), premature ejaculation, and female dysfunction, such as low libido in perimenopause age, unable to achieve orgasm, pain during intercourse, vaginismus, absence of sexual desire, etc.

He adds, “Psychological problems can also contribute to some sexual health issues.” Many people depend on expensive, non-scientific techniques to treat sexual health difficulties because they find it difficult to address these issues. At last, they come to physicians like us. They search for a confidential advice in such circumstances. Many even struggle with the cost of buying prescription drugs. In order to address the problem, we want to provide sexual health drugs right to people’s doors, adds Sandeep.

Sexual wellness also requires an integrated strategy, similar to sleep. It is also impacted by problems including sleeplessness, stress, sadness, and dietary deficiencies. The inventors of SOLVE believe that addressing the underlying problem is more important than relying just on band-aid fixes.
