“Won’t be Able to Crack Exam”: Another Kota NEET applicant disappears

Not too long after a NEET candidate left his PG room here with Rs 8,000 in his pocket, a second 19-year-old who was in Kota getting ready for the medical entrance test vanished. Aman Kumar Singh, a native of Bihar, abandoned his paying guest room in Swarn Vihar colony on the intervening night of May 11 and 12, according to police. Singh had spent the previous two years studying for the entrance test at the coaching center. Singh indicated he wouldn’t be able to pass the NEET test and couldn’t do well in it in a letter he left behind, they said.

Rajendra Prasad Meena, 19, a resident of Rajasthan, vanished from his PG room on May 6. He informed his parents via text that he was leaving home for five years and that he did not want to continue his education. Meena said that he would get in touch with his family or other relatives if necessary and that he had Rs 8,000 with him. In his message, Singh requested that readers find him close to the Kota Barrage, which spans the Chambal River. Police disregarded the boy’s suicide theory, however, as they were unable to locate him in the vicinity of the barrage.

According to DSP Rajesh Soni, Singh boarded a train at Kota Railway Station after riding a bike with another lad, as shown by CCTV video. He said that Singh will be located shortly and that it is believed the youngster put the message in his room in an attempt to mislead the authorities and his parents.

Singh’s younger brother moved in with him earlier this month to get ready for the NEET, said to Kunhari Circle inspector Arvind Bhardwaj. Singh’s brother told the police that he left the PG at approximately one in the morning on the night of May 11 and May 12. An hour later, the officer said he woke up to find his brother gone but also saw his phone and a letter on the bed.

According to Bhardwaj, the student expressed his worry in the letter that he wouldn’t be able to pass the NEET test and that he was worried out. The DSP said that Singh’s parents, who are from the Bihar region of Munger, had also arrived in Kota on Sunday. The police have filed a complaint on the incident, and attempts are in progress to locate the pupil.
