Reddy began his career as a teacher in 1996, having been up in an agricultural family in Veeraballi Mandal’s Bodimal Reddigari hamlet. He specialized in teaching social studies. He has spent the last thirty years working to instill civic responsibility in his pupils as well as making sure that government schools are competitive with private ones by emphasizing a positive environment and improved facilities.

Reddy, the District Secretary of the Scouts and Guides, is an avid environmentalist who has spearheaded campaigns to plant thousands of saplings in order to improve the amount of greenery.
