Absolute Zero Tolerance for Skeletal Immigration Agents, Declares Punjab CM Mann

Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, said on Tuesday that his administration has a zero-tolerance attitude against dishonest immigration officials who trick people into travelling overseas on phoney papers.

Mann said here that in addition to taking commendable action, the state government would launch a significant awareness campaign on such agents.

Mann said that Punjab’s immigration legislation would also undergo the required changes in order to guarantee the worst punishment for them.

Mann cited the story of numerous Indian students who were transported to Canada on fictitious passports after being tricked by immigration officers.

The state administration is in touch with the Canadian embassy, according to the chief minister, to guarantee that the offenders get severe punishment in Punjab.

Throughout the day, Mann also signed off a fleet of 56 motorbikes and 16 high-tech Mahindra Bolero motorcycles to support the Punjab police’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU).

He described the introduction of the vehicles as another milestone in the modernization of law enforcement. The Bolero cars are equipped with an innovative mobile surveillance system that can capture video while moving and gather evidence while providing real-time monitoring and warnings. This system is reliable and built to industrial grade requirements.

He said that in addition to verbal contact with those inside the car, it would also enable cops to monitor real-time activities and locate vehicles from the control centre.

According to Mann, the cars include two inside cameras as well as two outside cameras with a 30-meter field of vision.

They also have a seven-inch monitor mounted on their dashboard for viewing the cameras’ video, which has a 30-day storage capacity, he claimed.

Being a border state, certain elements opposed to the state have been planning evil schemes to disrupt the state’s hard-won tranquilly, but the CM stated the Punjab Police has always thwarted such efforts.

According to Mann, the police force has to be upgraded to meet modern standards in the areas of investigation, science, and technology in order to confront significant new difficulties.

The state administration has agreed to create a specialised “road safety force” to improve traffic flow on the roads and reduce road fatalities in the state, the chief minister said.

The responsibility of stopping reckless driving and streamlining vehicle flow on the roadways will be assigned to the force, according to Mann, which will lighten the workload of officers stationed at police stations.
