According to Kerala police, many north Indians contacted Nasar in search of organs

Investigators have discovered that Sabith Nasar is one of the leaders of the global network of organ harvesting and human trafficking. There is evidence that suggests people from north Indian states, including Delhi, sought him in search of organs for transplantation. Nasar, 30, is said to have admitted to the special investigation team that he drove many people to Iran for kidney transplants before being apprehended on Sunday at the Kochi airport.

On Wednesday, the team started questioning Nasar, who had been detained by the police for 13 days. Offering contributors a compensation package, paying for their round-trip travel costs, and collecting a fee of up to Rs 6 lakh each transaction were all part of his business. An extensive investigation into his remarks and actions has been started by the police.

Since 2019, investigators have been looking into Nasar’s phone conversations, financial transactions, and overseas excursions. He was discovered to have six bank accounts, and a request to freeze these accounts has been lodged.

The information was disclosed to Ernakulam Rural SP Vaibhav Saxena by Nasar, of Valapad in the Thrissur district, but the MBBS graduate officer did not get appropriate responses to numerous of his queries. For an hour, Saxena asked Nasar questions. The officers of the special investigation team then conducted a thorough questioning while the Rural SP was present.

“It seems that he made remarks during the preliminary investigation with the intention of misleading the police. His admissions will be thoroughly investigated, an officer said.

On Monday, a Kochi resident who had reportedly helped Nasar was arrested and put under questioning. However, it is stated that he was freed upon being declared innocent. Nasar admitted to the police that he helped arrange for 20 individuals to fly from India to Iran in order to harvest organs. The only other Keralite was Shameer from Thirunellayi in the Palakkad district.

Investigators are also investigating Shameer’s participation, who around six months ago gave a kidney donation while under the influence of Nasar.

In addition to determining whether Shameer, who is now overseas, is involved in the scheme, the police are also looking into the involvement of a lady who communicates with Nasar on a regular basis.

across addition to the 20 individuals he had acknowledged, the police believe he trafficked many more people for organ donation and that he had sent out many agents to find kidney donors across the state.

The incident is being looked at by a team of ten people under the Rural SP.
