As the BJP and Dushyant Chautala’s JJP split, Nayab Saini asks for the Haryana trust vote

Wednesday’s special Haryana assembly session is planned to be used to establish the majority of the new BJP administration, which was formed after the dissolution of the saffron party’s alliance with the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP). The new Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, will lead the state.

In response to Manohar Lal Khattar’s abrupt resignation, Saini, who became the Chief Minister on Tuesday, sent a letter of support signed by 48 MLAs to Governor Bandaru Dattatreya. In order to have a trust vote, he also requested that an assembly session be called.

The development coincided with disagreements on seat-sharing for the next Lok Sabha elections between the BJP and JJP, led by Dushyant Chautala.

Political developments in Harayan: the most recent
At the oath-taking ceremony conducted at the Raj Bhawan in Chandigarh, Governor Dattatreya delivered the oath to Saini, the 54-year-old OBC politician and head of the BJP in Haryana. Additionally, five MLAs were sworn in as ministers: one independent and four BJP members.

With 41 members in the 90-member state house, the BJP also has the backing of six out of seven independents and Gopal Kanda, the lone MLA from the Haryana Lokhit Party. In the House, the JJP has ten MLAs. The Indian National Lok Dal has one MLA, while the major opposition Congress has thirty.

Ten a.m. is the scheduled time for the legislative party meeting of the BJP before to the extraordinary assembly session. Khattar is anticipated to attend the important meeting along with other BJP MLAs.

Anil Vij, a six-term Ambala Cantt MLA and former home minister, was not present at Saini’s oath-taking ceremony and has not been included in the new Cabinet. Khattar said that Vij “gets upset easily, but becomes normal later” in reference to his absence. Additionally, he said that if Vij had been there, he would have taken an oath.

Khattar made a suggestion that the saffron party would field him in the next Lok Sabha elections, the dates of which have not yet been declared. There are rumors that Khattar will be invited to run for the Lok Sabha seat in Karnal.

The JJP had already said that it would contest in all ten Lok Sabha seats and all ninety assembly constituencies in Haryana. Speaking to reporters, JJP spokesman Arvind Bharadwaj said an official statement would be released shortly when asked whether the party’s partnership with the BJP would continue.

After the saffron party failed to secure a majority and won 40 seats in the 2019 election, the BJP and the JJP forged a post-election coalition. After gaining ten seats, the JJP teamed up with the BJP to establish a coalition government. Haryana will have assembly elections later this year.

After the unexpected political events in Haryana, Dushyant Chautala’s uncle and the lone MLA for the Indian National Lok Dal, Abhay Chautala, made fun of his nephew.

“Gaddari ho jiski buniyad, anjam-e-minaar hona hi tha barbaad (A tower built on the foundation of betrayal is bound to be destroyed),” On X, Abhay Chautala wrote.

Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a former chief minister and leader of the Congress, said that by dissolving their coalition and replacing the prime minister, the BJP and JJP had conceded defeat well before the polls. He asked for President’s Rule in the state and insisted that assembly elections be conducted as soon as possible.

Congressman Kumari Selja said, “It is time for change” and accused the BJP of abandoning the nation’s citizens. She said, “The Congress will get them justice.”
