At AIIMS Delhi, a fire breaks out in an endoscopy room but is quickly put out

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi’s second floor endoscopy room caught fire on Monday.

According to sources who spoke to PTI, the fire has been put out and no one has been hurt.
Six fire tenders were sent to the scene after receiving word of the incident at AIIMS Delhi at approximately 11.54 am, according to authorities speaking to PTI.

All of the patients in the endoscopic room were safely evacuated, sources informed PTI.

Images posted by ANI showed black smoke emerging from the window and ascending to the sky.

According to PTI, the endoscopy room at AIIMS Delhi is situated on the second level of the Old OPD, above the emergency ward.

According to NDTV, the emergency ward has been shut down as a result of the incident, and patients are being sent to Safdarjung Hospital.

“The Old Raj Kumari OPD Building’s second level was where the fire started. Firefighters managed to contain it, but the search effort is still underway, according to the Fire Department, which was reported by NDTV.
