Atishi claims that the ED is ignoring the BJP and its partners

A prominent AAP politician and cabinet member from Delhi unleashed a vicious assault on the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) handling of the purported liquor policy scandal on Saturday. She said that the Central Investigation Agency was not impartial in its work and was purposefully not taking action against the BJP and its partners.

For the last two years, the ED has been making fruitless attempts to track down a financial trail related to the alleged liquor policy fraud targeting AAP leaders. The minister said, “They have not been able to find a single penny under the proceeds of the alleged crime.”

“Even the Supreme Court has questioned the ED on the money trail multiple times,” she said. Where is the money trail pertaining to Manish Sisodia, Sanjay Singh, and other AAP leaders, the ED has been questioned? The organization cannot respond to this. The ED’s claimed Rs 100 crore money trail has not been verified and is still up for dispute, according to Justice Sanjiv Khanna.

The AAP leader went on to say that the ED had detained party leaders without any proof. “The ED’s suspicion of money laundering has been the only reason for the arrest of numerous of our senior leaders.” But on March 21, all of the details—who donated and received the money, where and when the transaction took place, and where the money was spent—were made public, the speaker said.

“In the previous sixteen days, why hasn’t the ED acted on the basis of substantial evidence? In the previous sixteen days, how many summonses did they send out? How many incursions did they carry out? The money trail links liquor entrepreneur Sarath Chandra Reddy to the BJP’s account, so the ED has done nothing at all in this case thus far, the minister said.

Five queries from the Minister to the Central Agency

1. In relation to Sarath Reddy’s Rs 55 crore payment to the BJP, how many searches, summonses, and arrests have been conducted?

2. When will the Enforcement Directorate, as it has done with the Aam Aadmi Party, link Reddy’s gift to the Bharatiya Janata Party?

3. When can we expect to see a raid, an arrest, and a summons for BJP president JP Nadda?

4. Is the ED even looking into any contributions that Magunta Reddy and his son may have made to the BJP?

5. Has the Election Commission looked into the BJP’s campaigning? Has the organization looked into the source of the funding?
