Bengaluru Traffic Alert: Are You Going To Vajarahalli Village From Kanakapura Vajarahalli? Verify Limitations

Bengaluru: Due to construction on the BWSSB Pipeline at the Kanakapura Main Road—Vajarahalli 100 Feet Road Junction under the Thalaghatapura traffic police station, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has devised special traffic arrangements. Because to this, there will be a 12-day traffic restriction on the route leading from Kanakapura Vajarahalli 100 Feet Junction to Vajarahalli Village from April 29, 2024, to May 10, 2024.

These highways may see a temporary traffic diversion

Directions & Diversions: 1. At the Vajarahalli 100-foot road intersection, BMTC and KSRTC buses and cars heading towards Banashankari from Kanakapura Main Road in Thalaghattapura must turn left. After 300 meters, turn right at Bengaluru One Junction into Vajarahalli Village Road, which will lead to the major Kanakapura Road.

2. At the Vajarahalli 100-foot road intersection, HGV trucks and private buses heading from the Kanakapura main road to Thalaghattapura towards Banashankari make a left turn. Turn right at Chikkegowdanapalya Junction on Turahalli Mini Forest Road, which leads to Link Road-80 Feet Road and the KSIT Signal Kanakapura Main Road.

3. When traveling from the Kanakapura main road in Thalaghattapura towards Banashankari, all LGV vehicles, autos, and two-wheelers must turn left at the Vajarahalli 100-foot road intersection, right at the pipeline road, through the pipeline road, and Balaji Layout road before turning right toward the 80-foot road to the KSIT Signal on the Kanakapura main road.

Another warning said that traffic flow in the vicinity would be impacted by the addition of additional tracks to the Hebbal flyover, as posted on X by the Bengaluru Traffic Police. According to the advice, for the next four months, the construction would cause traffic on the K.R. Puram circle heading towards the city to flow extremely slowly. Travelers heading into the city from the K.R.Puram, Nagavara side may encounter delays.

Two spans near the K.R. Puram loop linking the main track will be demolished in order to accommodate the two additional tracks that the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA) has planned to install to the Hebbal flyover.

Alternative routes to access the city include the IOC-Mukunda Theatre Road, the Lingarajpuram Flyover Route, and the Nagavara-Tannery Road Route. Those traveling from Hegdenagar-Thanisandra should access the city via the G.K.V.K.-Jakkur route.

During peak hours, the K.R. Puram upramp for cars entering from the Nagavara side will be blocked. Instead, vehicles should go to the Hebbal circle below the flyover, turn right towards Kodigehalli, make a U-turn to join the service road, and then continue on the loop towards the city.

The ambitious project encountered a fresh roadblock earlier in January of this year when the South Western Railway (SWR) requested that the BDA get its approval before erecting bridges across rail territory in order to guarantee that future rail improvements are not impeded by road infrastructure. The SWR intends to install six extra railway tracks in the vicinity of the one that is already in use under the overpass. As part of the Yeshwantpur-Hebbal-Channasandra line doubling and the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP), four of them will be laid.
