BJP Criticizes Congress For Undermining State Interests And Devoting All of Its Resources To Rahul Gandhi’s Supporters

The Congress is being accused by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of continually sacrificing the interests of its state units in order to placate Rahul Gandhi and keep him relevant at the expense of the party’s state sections. The Congress’ recent decision to back the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in rejecting the Centre’s legislation on administrative services in Delhi sparked a verbal spat between the two parties, which prompted the BJP’s criticism.

The head of the BJP’s IT division, Amit Malviya, voiced his displeasure with the central leadership of the Congress and accused them of making agreements with the AAP and the Trinamool Congress (TMC) without receiving any meaningful advantages in return. The Congress, he said, has devolved into a simple collection of persons who revolve around Rahul Gandhi, disregarding the needs of its state affiliates.

Jaiveer Shergill, a BJP spokesman, took aim at the Congress’ internal divisions and demanded an explanation before the party participated in opposition meetings in Bengaluru. He emphasized the divergent positions taken on supporting AAP by Punjab Congress leader Pratap Bajwa and Congress leader Ajay Maken. Shergill attacked the Congress for being indecisive and desperate on the political front.
