BJP’s Chaturvedi Charges Rajasthan CM Gehlot With Violating the Model Code of Conduct

Arun Chaturvedi, a BJP leader in Rajasthan, charged Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday of breaking the Model Code of Conduct by utilizing government employees for political gatherings.

After the Rajasthan assembly elections were set for a certain date by the Election Commission, the code went into force. Election day in the state is November 25.

A former BJP leader in Rajasthan named Chaturvedi cited Gehlot’s most recent trip to Delhi for a meeting with Sonia Gandhi.

Gehlot reportedly brought his secretary on this excursion in a government car, which, according to Chaturvedi, was a clear breach of the Model Code of Conduct.

The BJP leader further said that Gehlot has been hosting political gatherings with government employees.

“Election Commission rules stipulate that ministers are not allowed to have their staff accompany them for political work,” he said.

Several appointments and announcements made while the code was being implemented that Chaturvedi believed were open breaches were also highlighted.

According to him, the BJP intends to lodge a protest with the Election Commission asking that Ashok Gehlot’s images be taken off of advertising materials for government programs and power bills, guarantee cards, flyers, and cellphones.
