Case filed against 20-year-old Man for Aiding 16-Year-Old Girl’s Suicide

An official stated on Friday that the Navi Mumbai police in Maharashtra have filed a complaint against a 20-year-old man for harassing a 16-year-old girl and causing her to commit herself.

According to the station house officer of the Panvel Taluka Police Station, the case against the accused Bala, alias Nikesh Gayar, was filed on Wednesday as a result of a complaint from the girl’s father under Indian Penal Code section 306 (abetment of suicide).

The official cited the complaint and said that the victim had a romantic relationship with Gayar. However, he would argue with her and cause her difficulty, the official said, which led the girl to commit herself in July.

The length of time between the girl’s passing and the case being registered was not further explained by the police.
