Chandigarh: An easier way to renew your brand registration

In order to facilitate business transactions, the Excise & Taxation Department, UT, has included a clause in Excise Policy 2024-25 that permits liquor brand/label registration renewals to be automatically renewed via an online portal.

By using the online system, license holders may easily renew liquor labels or brands that were previously authorized in the previous year via an automated procedure.

The licensees will now be able to conveniently submit their liquor label/brand applications through an online portal, along with the necessary paperwork and fees. In exchange, they will guarantee that the labels of the brands they are applying to renew, as well as the price of the brand and label (front and back) to be pasted on bottles, will remain unchanged, including size, color, printing, FSSAI License No., and other details. The permission will be automatically granted as soon as the necessary money is paid.

The objective of this effort is to simplify and accelerate the application process by cutting down on paperwork and doing away with in-person meetings. This will make the process quicker and more efficient. The department will use technology to streamline and expedite the application process for applicants while maintaining the integrity of the auto renewal label registration procedure.”
