CM Sukhu Encourages Affluent Individuals to Foster Orphans Living in Daycare Facilities

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, made a plea to the richer segment of society on Thursday, asking them to adopt youngsters living in daycare centers and provide them a secure and promising future.

He went to a daycare in Tutikandi where Jyoti (real name withheld) was adopted by her new parents in front of the chief minister as part of the “Mukhya Mantri Sukh Ashray Yojana.” Sukhu praised the couple for their kind deed and for motivating the affluent segment of the population to choose adoption.

According to an official release, he said, “The government understands the problems faced by the orphans and other weaker sections of society, which is why the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Ashray Yojana has been started in the state.”

According to Sukhu, the state administration works tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of society’s poorer segments. He said, “Himachal Pradesh is the first state to create a law for the welfare of vulnerable groups, including orphan children.”

“The program covers about 4,000 orphan children, and the state has taken full responsibility for their education and overall development,” he said. The state government, according to the chief minister, has also launched a novel program called Mukhya Mantri Sukh Ashray Kosh, for which kind donations are coming in from all around the state, including from ministers and MLAs.

“These funds are being used to provide a variety of benefits, such as covering the costs of education, lodging, exposure trips, and other expenses for those who fall under the program,” Sukhu said.
