Congress files complaints against Amit Malviya and Nadda

The Congress has filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI) against state president BY Vijayendra, BJP chief JP Nadda, and party IT cell head Amit Malviya regarding a video that the party’s Karnataka wing posted on social media ahead of the second phase of voting in the state on May 7.

On social media yesterday, the BJP released an animated film criticizing Muslims, Congressman Rahul Gandhi, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Nadda, Malviya, and Vijayendra are the targets of a complaint filed by the High Grounds police in Bengaluru under Section 505(2) of the IPC and Section 125 of the Representation of People Act.

According to the complaint, the Congress has been falsely accused by the BJP of supporting a certain religion and of having an unfair position towards the SC/ST and OBC populations.

“I have carefully read the Congress manifesto, and I have not seen any reference that the Muslim community would get funding instead of the SC/ST and OBC populations. The lawsuit claimed that the BJP had been misleading people into believing that the Congress would include Muslims in the OBC category and that it was utilizing this false propaganda to get votes for the Lok Sabha election.
