Congress joins former Telangana deputy chief minister Kadiyam and Kavya

On Sunday, in the presence of Chief Minister and TPCC President A Revanth Reddy as well as AICC Telangana in-change Deepa Dasmunshi, former deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari and his daughter Kavya officially joined the Congress.

Srihari won the Station Ghanpur seat in the most recent Assembly elections with a BRS ticket. In the meanwhile, Kavya received a nomination from the Pink Party for the Warangal Lok Sabha seat. A few days before, Kavya had declared that she would not be running on the BRS ticket and had submitted her resignation, citing lack of support from grassroots leaders and her prediction that the party would not win many seats in the General Elections.

began using TDP

Srihari, a four-time lawmaker, started out with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He was chosen from Station Ghanpur to serve in the Assembly. He has served in TDP-led administrations in undivided Andhra Pradesh, holding the positions of irrigation, education, social welfare, and marketing.

He joined the BRS (then the TRS) in 2013 and was elected to the Warangal Lok Sabha. But when the pink party emerged victorious in Telangana’s maiden Assembly elections and was named deputy chief minister, he quit as an MP.

In the meanwhile, chief minister Vem Narender Reddy’s adviser, BRS leader and former MLC B Mohan Reddy, joined the Congress in the company of Deepa Dasmunshi AICC secretary Rohit Choudhary, and Khairatabad DCC president Rohin Reddy.

Former MLC Mohan Reddy also shifts allegiances

In the presence of Deepa Dasmunshi, BRS leader and former MLC B Mohan Reddy also joined the Congress. Present were Khairatabad DCC leader Rohin Reddy, adviser to chief minister Vem Narender Reddy, and AICC secretary Rohit Choudhary.
