CRPF member discovered dead in Pulwama, J-K; suicide suspected

In the early hours of Saturday, a Central Reserve authorities Force (CRPF) jawan was discovered dead in the hamlet of Chersoo in the Pulwama region of Jammu & Kashmir, according to authorities.

Ajay Kumar has been named as the dead.

 

Gunshots were heard at roughly 1:55 am, and Sepoy Ajay Kumar was reportedly discovered dead next to SAIL Chersoo in Awantipura.

 

 

“A jawan of F 112 Batallion CRPF, Constable/Sepoy Ajay Kumar, was found dead in a pool of blood, on the intervening night of the 11th and 12th of August at around 1.55 am, after gunshots were heard near SAIL Chersoo,” police said.

 

They said that more investigation into the event is ongoing and stated that “the apparent cause of death is suicide.”
