‘Dastardly’ assault on Moscow musical venue denounced by Congress

NEW DELHI: The “dastardly” assault on Moscow’s music hall, which left almost 145 people wounded and at least 60 dead, was denounced by the Indian National Congress on Saturday.
“The Indian National Congress strongly condemns the dastardly terrorist attack on innocent people in Moscow,” Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in a post on X. The greatest danger to mankind and peace is terrorism.”

“Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and in this hour of sorrow, we strongly stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Russia and the Russian Federation,” he said.

According to US intelligence, the Islamic State, specifically its branch in Afghanistan known as ISIS-K, claimed responsibility for the assault via its Amaq agency on Telegram.
There was worldwide criticism of the incident.
PM Narendra Modi called the incident “heinous” and said that India supports the Russian government and people in demonstrating solidarity with the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, wishes for a quick recovery for the injured parties in the gun incident in Moscow.
Russian news sources cited Tatyana Golikova as stating, “The president wished everyone a speedy recovery and conveyed his gratitude to the doctors.”
As part of its “duty to warn” policy, the United States reportedly informed Russian authorities of a potential assault on “large gatherings” and “shared this information with Russian authorities,” according to the White House.
