During the Mahashivratri celebrations in Kota, more than fifteen children were electrocuted; three of them were critically injured and hospitalized

Around fifteen children were electrocuted during a Mahashivratri parade in Kota, Rajasthan. Om Birla, the Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota MP, arrived at the hospital and instructed the medical staff on how to care for the wounded children.

The youngsters, who were between the ages of 10 and 16, were electrocuted by a high-tension power line that was above in the Sakatoura neighborhood under the Kunhari police station.

According to a senior police officer, 12 of the youngsters had injuries less than 50%, while the other two had burns that were 100 and 50 percent severe, respectively.

After being sent to MBS Hospital for treatment, all of the wounded youngsters would be sent to Jaipur. Heeralal Nagar, the minister of Rajasthani energy, also arrived at the hospital.

The incident happened on Friday between 11.30 am and 12 pm as a “Shiv Barat” procession was going through Kalibasti. One of the lads in the procession hit the high-tension wire that was traveling above while carrying a flag atop a bamboo pole that was 22 feet high.
