Elaborate Security Arrangements Made In Sensitive Locations Due To Haryana Clashes, According To Delhi Police

Following the violence in various districts of the neighboring state of Haryana, security has been increased in vulnerable areas of the nation’s capital, the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.

Vishva Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists demonstrated against the skirmishes that were generating traffic congestion around the national capital. Bajrang Dal followers were seen in social media videos chanting the Hanuman Chalisa close to the Nirman Vihar Metro Station. Later, they attempted to barricade Vikas Marg, but police were able to remove them.

“Extensive security precautions have been taken at all key locations in the city and extra police troops have also been deployed where required, keeping in mind the unrest in several areas of Haryana, adjacent to Delhi. The Delhi Police warned that any effort to undermine communal peace and security in Delhi will be met with stern punishment.

Police are meeting with peace groups and have increased patrols in vulnerable locations. According to authorities, social media is also being monitored.

At the borders, vehicles are checked. Officials said that in addition to the deployment of foot patrols in numerous places and interactions between senior police officers and residents, drones are also being deployed for security reasons.

Supporters of the Bajrang Dal demonstrated and shouted “Jai Shri Ram” in the northeastern area. Police halted and built barriers.

According to a senior police official, enough security measures have been taken to ensure the district’s safety, and everything are as they should be.

In a tweet, Swati Maliwal of the Delhi Commission for Women said that a banner reading “blood will be shed on streets” had been placed in front of the Nangloi police station in Delhi. She tweeted a link to the video and stated that since Monday, the film had gone viral on social media.

The sectarian rioting in Haryana claimed the lives of at least six individuals, including two home guards and a priest, while 116 others have been detained.
