In Thurana village, Hansi Assembly constituency, district, farmer activists blocked BJP candidate Ranjit Singh’s cavalcade, forcing him to retreat from the community’s periphery.
When the activists gathered at the village entry in the afternoon, the BJP candidate was on route to the village, or “chaupal,” to address a political gathering.
The protestors threw up black flags, chanted, and forbade him from entering the community. Singh left the village and did not show up for the meeting.
