Gejja Ram and Amar Singh submit documents

Dr. Amar Singh of the Congress and Gejja Ram Valmiki of the BJP submitted their nomination papers for the Fatehgarh Sahib parliamentary seat on the last day of nomination filing.

Dr. Amar was joined by Partap Singh Bajwa, the Leader of the Opposition, who said that the Congress was leading the way.

He continued by saying that the public was furious with the AAP administration because it had failed in every way and its candidates. Attacking the saffron party, Bajwa said that the BJP was anti-farmers and that they intended to amend the Constitution to do away with the SC/ST reservations.

Accompanying Valmiki, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi said that the Center supported farmers by providing a subsidy of Rs 10 lakh billion for fertilizers. She went on to say that Punjab was deeply in debt as a result of vote-bank politics and poor financial management.
