Government Reports 1,532 Suicides Among CAPF, NSG, and Assam Rifles Employees Since 2011
According to Union Minister Nityanand Rai, 1,532 members of the Central Armed Police Forces, Assam Rifles, and National Security Guard have committed suicide since 2011.
No such incidence involving systemic harassment, according to the minister of state for the interior, has been documented.
He responded in writing that there had been 1,532 incidents of suicides by members of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Assam Rifles, and National Security Guard since 2011.
In order to avoid suicides and fratricides in CAPFs and Assam Rifles, Rai stated a task force has been established. This task force will identify relevant risk factors and relevant risk categories as well as provide corrective actions.
He said that the task force’s report is forthcoming.
