Gurugram: A murder case involving two pals

The Gurugram police claim to have solved the murder case of a 45-year-old man whose corpse was discovered dumped on May 7 near the Chandu canal after apprehending two people.

The police said that the suspects admitted that, after a fight about swimming, they had murdered the guy by strangling him with a rope. From their possession, a rope, two cell phones, and an automobile were found.

The deceased was identified by the police as Inder Sahni, a Bihar native who was born in Samastipur. Right now, he was living in Ram Vihar, which is close to Dhanwapur village, with his family.

The victim was found to have died by strangulation on May 9, according to the postmortem report. The Rajendra Park police station then filed a formal complaint under Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (hiding evidence) of the IPC.

On May 12, a team under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Pradeep Kumar apprehended the two suspects, who were identified as residents of Gurugram, Sahdev Chaddha (26), of Sector 4, and Dinesh (23), of Surant Nagar. From Chituni village in the Siddharth Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, both suspects were taken into custody.

“The arrested accused are friends and were bathing in the canal when they met with the deceased, Inder Sahni, who did not know how to swim,” said City ACP Shiv Archan Sharma.

According to the ACP, Chaddha was taking a bath on the canal’s banks when Sahni began pleading with him to accompany him inside, but Chaddha declined.

After a fight broke out over Sahni’s excessive insistence, Dinesh murdered Sahni by pushing him into the canal and strangling him with a rope. The two suspects then drove off in a vehicle. The ACP said, “We are questioning the accused after placing them under police remand for a period of three days.”
