Two detained for attempted robbery

Panchkula: In connection with a February 15 robbery attempt in Madanpur village, the Crime Branch detained two more suspects on Tuesday, one of them was a kid. An inhabitant of Bhelwa village, located in the Mungar district of Bihar, is one of the suspects. From there, the cops retrieved fifteen cartridges. According to the police, on February 15, several miscreants fired bullets into the air while attempting to rob a jeweler in the Madanpur hamlet. On February 21, the police team had taken into custody six people, one of whom was a kid. On February 25, they took into custody the seventh suspect, a Jind inhabitant. After doing more research, the police used fifteen shots to apprehend two more individuals, one of whom was a kid. OC

There will be 12 libraries in Mohali.

Mohali: According to Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, twelve new libraries will soon be established in the district villages of Mohali. Six of the district’s twelve authorized libraries, he said, will be located in the Mohali constituency. In addition to holding a ground-breaking ceremony today, he also handed over the first payment of Rs 10 lakh to each of the panchayats in Mauli Baidwan, Bhago Majra, and Maujpur villages. He promised that the libraries would have cutting-edge features like Wi-Fi, CCTV cameras, air conditioners, and inverters. He went on to say that libraries would be useful in helping young people improve their behavior. OC

Three people are detained in a snatching case.

Chandigarh: Three persons have been detained in Chandigarh in relation to a snatching case, one of them is a shopkeeper. Reetu Sharma, a resident of Sector 34, filed a complaint alleging that on February 26, while walking her dog, two criminals on motorcycles stole her cell phone from the Sector 33/34 dividing road. Two snatchers, named as Deepak (21) and Rohan (18), were taken into custody. Held later was Satish Kumar, who operates a kiosk at the Sector 22 market. TNS

A man is accused of trespassing.

Chandigarh: The Estate Office cordoned off a booth, and a guy has been charged with trespassing inside. The Chandigarh police said that Joginder Singh had broken into booth No. 50 at Phase-II, Ram Darbar, as reported by Estate Office tehsildar Vinay Chaudhary. At the police station in Sector 31, a case has been filed. TNS

A suspended official is granted bail.

Chandigarh: In a bribery case brought by the vigilance department, a local court has granted bail to drug controller Sunil Chaudhary, who is currently on suspension. On February 1, Chaudhary turned himself into the court after the filing of a complaint by Dhanas resident Deo Sharan Sah. As per Vigilance, Choudhary, the complainant, was requesting bribes via Ashok Narula, the mediator, to settle a notice that was sent out in the name of Firm M/s Devine Surgical. The accused’s attorney informed the judge that his client had been wrongfully charged in the case. TNS

Trials for hockey on February 29

Chandigarh: In order to choose a squad to compete in the 14th Hockey India Senior Women National Championship, which will take place in Pune, Maharashtra, from March 13 to 23, Hockey Chandigarh will hold tryouts on February 29. The tryouts will be placed at Sector 42 Sports Complex on February 29 at 4 p.m. Participants in the trials must be enrolled members of Hockey Chandigarh.
