IMD says there won’t be any rain in Bengaluru for another week

Rain hopes in Bengaluru are scuppered once again. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has delayed the possibility of rain by around a week, so eager city dwellers who were hoping for some respite after the Uttaradi rainfall will now have to wait another week. Light rain has been falling over the districts of Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga in recent days.

Even though April is not predicted to be a particularly hot month, the IMD predicts that the temperature will nevertheless hover around 35 to 36 degrees Celsius.Senior scientist A Prasad of IMD, Bengaluru, clarified, saying, “The location of the trough and wind convergence determines rainfall in Bengaluru. Rainfall will be delayed since there isn’t any wind convergence right now and the trough isn’t in a favorable location. In the next days, Bengaluru might anticipate rain if the trough continues eastward.

The IMD had previously predicted Bengaluru to get 61.7 mm of rain in April, which is the average amount. But because the rains are apparently coming a few days later than usual, the city is expected to get less rain than usual.

The city registered 34.5 degrees Celsius on April 14, a decrease of over three degrees. The highest temperature, however, has continued to rise over 34 degrees Celsius, which is Bengaluru’s typical April average.

The IMD website indicates that on April 15 and 16, the maximum and lowest temperatures are anticipated to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.
