In light of the Nuh event, Hindu organizations will be holding a ‘Mahapanchayat’ in Palwal

A’mahapanchayat’ will be convened by Hindu organisations on Sunday in the hamlet of Pondri in Haryana. The purpose of this gathering is to make a decision about the resumption of the VHP’s Braj Mandal Yatra in Nuh, which was halted on July 31 due to communal violence that broke out in the region, according to authorities.

In the beginning, the ‘Sarva Jatiye Mahapanchayat’ was supposed to take place in the Kira village located in the Nuh district; but, due to the current state of law and order, permission was not granted for it to take place there.

Sandeep Mor, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (headquarters) in Palwal, said on Sunday that permission had been granted for the event to take place in Palwal.

Both Palwal and Nuh are districts that are next to one another.

The mahapanchayat will be conducted under the name of ‘Sarv Hindu Samaj,’ and it will include participation from many Hindu organizations, such as the Vishva Hindu Parishad.

The police have said that the mahapanchayat would be permitted to have a meeting of around 500 people and that stern action will be taken against anybody who makes any form of hate speech.

Communal violence broke out in Nuh when a crowd assaulted a parade being led by the VHP, resulting in the deaths of six persons, including two members of the home guard and a priest.

In the meanwhile, a leader from the VHP in Gurugram named Devender Singh said that the yatra would continue on August 28 in Nuh, notwithstanding the violence that occurred during the last iteration.
