In Ludhiana, waste compactors will be operational from today

Following the discovery of the rat threat at the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana, representatives of the Municipal Corporation (MC) said that efforts are on to eliminate the open landfill site next to the hospital. On Wednesday, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sandeep Rishi conducted an inspection of the static compactor site, which is located near Christian Dental College in the rear of the civil hospital.

According to representatives of the city body, all mechanical and civil work at the location has been finished, and the compactors will be turned on this Thursday.

A significant portion of the open landfill will be cleaned once this facility is operating, according to MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi. The open dump will be entirely eliminated from the location after the municipal organization operationalizes the static compactor site next to the Division #3 police station.

According to Sandeep Rishi, MC has already started a cleaning effort at the location and has given the appropriate MC staff instructions to monitor and cease disposing of sewage garbage there. There won’t be any unpleasant odor in the vicinity after the open dump is removed from this location, which will also help reduce the rat problem near Civil Hospital.
