Samir Dash, a former Odisha minister, promises to destroy BJD

A showdown between the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expected in the electoral battleground of Puri District’s Nimapara Assembly constituency. A prominent figure, former minister and current legislator Samir Ranjan Dash, is determined to obstruct the efforts of BJD candidate Dillip Nayak.

After being turned down for a BJD ticket, Dash has started a campaign to mobilize people against Nayak. In order to gain support for his candidacy, he met with a number of constituent groups, including women, young people, and minority organizations. While Dash’s precise plan of action is yet unknown, he could decide to support the BJP or run as an Independent.

Locals, however, criticize Dash for failing to solve persistent problems that have beset the constituency, such as the NAC area’s drainage difficulties, Nimapara’s lack of subdivision status, and troubles with bus stops.

In the meanwhile, 500 voters from other parties recently attended a Misran Parba (inclusion ceremony) that BJD candidate Dillip Nayak held, showing their power by pledging their loyalty to the party.
