In Rajasthan’s Kolihan mine, a lift collapses trapping 14, and rescue operations are in progress

Jaipur, 15 May A staff lift at Hindustan Copper Limited’s Kolihan mine in Rajasthan’s Neem Ka Thana district collapsed on Tuesday night, trapping at least 14 people.

Initial reports said that top corporate executives and a vigilance team had visited the site to investigate it. The lift’s rope snapped as they were returning from the inspection, leaving them trapped at a depth of several hundred meters.

The police said that every person hit by the mine is being safely rescued. In addition, many ambulances and physicians have been sent to the location to guarantee prompt medical attention.
