In the abduction case, JDS Leader HD Revanna was granted bail; her release is anticipated tomorrow

A Special Court for Elected Representatives on Monday granted bail to HD Revanna, a JD(S) MLA, in relation to a kidnapping case. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) detained Revanna, 66, on May 4 in connection with a suspected kidnapping case involving a lady who has been connected to allegations of sexual abuse against his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.
After hearing the case, Santhosh Gajanan Bhat, the special court judge, granted Revanna conditional release. After being detained by the police for three days, Revanna was placed under court detention for seven days, until May 14.

The lawsuit began with a complaint made by the woman’s son, who claimed that Prajwal Revanna had sexually molested his mother. According to police sources, the lady was allegedly abducted to stop her from testifying against Prajwal.

The matter has been under investigation by the SIT, which also took Sathish Babanna, Revanna’s accomplice, into custody.

Revanna’s attorney argued in favor of his release at the bail hearing, citing a lack of proof and a political plot. They also questioned the SIT’s use of certain parts.

On the other hand, the SIT said that testimony from the victim and her relatives, in addition to further proof, supports their allegations against Revanna.

Revanna, a well-known politician in Karnataka, was finally granted bail after the court postponed making its decision.

Political tensions have arisen in the state as a result of the crisis surrounding Prajwal Revanna, who is allegedly guilty of several incidents of sexual assault. Actions against the people who circulated graphic films and a thorough inquiry are being demanded.
