India hosts a cultural extravaganza at the airport to welcome the G20 leaders

Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, has arrived in the nation’s capital, together with Alberto Fernández, the president of Argentina, and Kristalina Georgieva, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund. On September 9 and 10, at this yearly summit, which India is hosting as the G20’s current chair, world leaders will have an opportunity to have substantive talks about important global concerns.

The stage was set for a fruitful and culturally rich summit as these influential leaders were welcomed at the airport by lively cultural performances. Notably, Kristalina Georgieva danced enthusiastically as soon as she arrived since she was unable to resist the music’s enticing pace.

Numerous important issues, such as inclusive development, digital innovation, climate resilience, and providing fair access to global health care, have come under the focus during India’s G20 leadership. In the globally linked world of today, these are all urgent challenges.

Over two-thirds of the world’s population live in the G20 member countries, which jointly account for an astounding 85% of worldwide GDP, more than 75% of global commerce, and more than 75% of global employment. It’s a broad and strong assembly of nations, including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, the US, and the European Union (EU).

Pedro Sanchez, president of Spain, was unable to attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi due to the unexpected revelation that he had a positive COVID-19 test result earlier today. President Sanchez, assuring everyone that he is feeling “fine,” has appointed First Vice President Nadia Calvino Santamaria and Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares to represent Spain at the conference.

Another significant event in the summit’s proceedings will occur when Rishi Sunak arrives in New Delhi at 1.40 p.m. He will be welcomed there by Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Ashwini Kumar Choubey.
