Jayant Sinha and Gautam Gambhir have decided not to run in the LS elections

Two BJP MPs, former union minister Jayana Sinha (Hazaribagh, Jharkhand) and cricketer Gautam Gambhir (East Delhi), wrote to party chairman J P Nadda on Saturday, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, requesting that he release them from their political and electoral responsibilities.

Gambhir thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing him the chance to serve the people in a post on X. Gambhir has often been criticised by the public in his constituency for “neglecting” it.

“I have requested Party President Jagat Prakash Nadda to relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my upcoming cricket commitments,” the BJP lawmaker stated in a letter.

Gambhir became a member of the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.”I have requested Hon’ble Party President Shri @JPNadda ji to relieve me of my direct electoral duties so that I can focus my efforts on combating global climate change in Bharat and around the world,” wrote Mr. Sinha on X a few hours later. Naturally, I’ll keep collaborating with the party on matters of government and the economy.
For the previous 10 years, he claimed to have had the honor of serving the people of Hazaribagh and Bharat. He has also been fortunate to have had several chances from the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and the BJP leadership.
