Jharkhand legislators arrive in Hyderabad to be “safeguarded” till the floor test
HYDERABAD: As the 38 MLAs of the Jharkhand Mahagathbandhan alliance, headed by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, were flown down from Ranchi to the Begumpet airport here on Friday, it was back to “resort politics.” Senior Congress MLAs have begun to make accommodations for them to remain here till the Jharkhand assembly floor test is conducted.
Senior Congress leaders, including Deepa Das Munsi, the AICC general secretary in charge of Telangana, Ponnam Prabhakar, the transport minister, and S A Sampath Kumar, the AICC secretary, met the MLAs as they arrived in two VIP planes.

To protect them from potential poaching, they were driven to a private resort in Shamirpet, outside of the city. More than sixty rooms at the resort were reserved by Telangana Congress officials. Local leaders of Congress, including those designated to look after the lawmakers, will lodge at the resort.
Hours after two cabinet ministers and senior JMM leader Champai Soren took the oath of office as chief minister, 38 MLAs from the Congress and JMM boarded the planes from Ranchi airport. Champai and two cabinet ministers, RJD leader Satyanand Bhokta and senior Congress leader Alamgir Alam, did not attend, however.

To meet their needs, the state Congress leadership has assigned one leader for every eight MLAs from Jharkhand. Before departing for Jharkhand on February 5 to take part in the floor test, they are anticipated to remain in the area for at least two days. The governor has given the JMM coalition ten days to demonstrate their majority, and they will publicly announce the date of the floor test shortly.
According to sources, they may remain longer based on when the floor test is conducted, or they might depart at 7 a.m. on February 5 in two special planes. The INDIA bloc includes JMM. According to sources, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee made all of the preparations for their stay at the resort per the AICC’s instructions.
