“Just requested three spots”: Yogi asks Kashi and Mathura to pitch

LUCKNOW: As Kashi, Mathura, and legend echoed in the UP assembly on Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that although Krishna requested for five villages to be handed to the Pandavas, Hindus desire just three centers of worship associated with three deities. With Yogi’s remarks, a high-ranking BJP official has for the first time officially supported the demand for temples at contested locations in Mathura and Varanasi.

In order to support his arguments, the CM also cited a poem by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar called “Krishna Ki Chetavani,” which is included in the book “Rashmirathi.” This was done a few days after a Varanasi court had approved the restoration of Shringar Gauri and other Hindu deities’ worship at Gyanvapi Masjid’s southern crypt. This week, ASI announced that a mosque was being built in place of the Mathura Keshavdev temple.
“There was injustice done to Ayodhya. We recall an incident from 5,000 years ago when I discuss injustice. Only three locations have been discussed in (Hindu) culture during the last many years. These are unique locations where our gods themselves underwent reincarnation, according to Yogi. The CM said, “Here, too, there is rigidity,” alluding to the Mahabharat story in which Duryodhana’s uncompromising refusal to give up five villages to the Pandavas resulted in war. Conflicts also emerge when politics is mixed with rigidity and attempts are made to transform it into vote-bank politics.”
Says Oppn’s “Family Socialism” Is to Blame for UP’s Suffering
According to Yogi Adityanath, “the majority population is pleading and common faith is being disrespected” for the first time. He mentioned the ruling dated January 31 that permitted a family of priests to resume their puja inside a Gyanvapi basement. He also said that Nandi Baba, Lord Shiva’s assistant, was asked why he should wait after he observed the celebrations in Ayodhya on January 22. Overnight, the barriers were taken down. And why would Krishna Kanhaiyya give in is the question that has to be answered.
Responding to the governor’s speech during the budget session, Yogi also brought up the fact that Ram Lalla’s consecration at Ayodhya occurred after “500 years of waiting.” This is the first time in history that a god has had to provide proof of his existence. However, this instills in us tenacity. We were pleased that we had fulfilled our promise in addition to the fact that Ram had found his niche. Wahin banaya mandir wahin.
Yogi said that the nation will stop singing hymns honoring “plunderers.” He took aim at the opposition for their stance on the Ram temple, specifically targeting Akhilesh Yadav and the Samajwadi Party. He compared the challenges portrayed in the old texts to Ayodhya’s predicament prior to the BJP taking power in Uttar Pradesh. “We acknowledge that the temple issue was heard in court, but there was need for improvement on the roadways. One may have brought back ghats. One may have provided electricity. One could have made sure of sanitation. There may have been better healthcare facilities available. It was possible to build an airport,” he said.
The chief minister said, “I will say firmly that the country will accept only Ram Rajya’s principles, not that of samajwad (socialism),” citing governor Anandi Ben Patel’s statement that the nation was watching “Ram Rajya” take form. We ought to be pleased with our legacy. It’s now a mirage, Samajwad. The samajwad that you (SP) imagined is now unworkable and unnatural. Family socialism has caused problems for the state.
