Kangana hopes to succeed in politics as well after submitting her Mandi nomination

Mandi, 14 May Actor and BJP candidate for the Mandi parliamentary constituency in Himachal Pradesh, Kangana Ranaut, submitted her candidacy on Tuesday. She was dressed in a green saree and a Himachali cap and said that she “hopefully will get success in the field of politics as well.”

Kangana said that it is an honor for her to run from Mandi, accompanied by her mother Asha Ranaut, sister Rangoli Chandel, and party leaders Jai Ram Thakur and Rajeev Bindal.

“I have been successful in Bollywood and I am hopeful that I will get success in the field of politics as well.”

She said that she was drawn here by the affection of the people of Mandi.

“Our nation’s women are excelling in every sector, yet a few years ago, there were a lot more feticide cases in Mandi. The women from Mandi now work in politics, education, and the Army,” she said.

Later, she spoke to the crowd when “Jai Shri Ram” and “Bharat mata ki jai” were being chanted, and she commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his achievements.

“In 2029, 22 of the 68 MLAs in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly will be women, all due to PM Modi’s provision of 33 percent reservation for women,” she said. “Modi ji has filed the nominations from Kashi (Varanasi) and I filed it from Chotto Kashi (Mandi).”

Kangana made an attempt to establish contact with the crowd by saying, “This is the blessing of the people of Mandi for their daughter, who has struggled hard to make a name for herself in the film industry.”

A distinctive election contest in the Mandi seat pits “stardom” against “royalty” as Congress lawmaker Vikramaditya Singh, a descendant of the former royal dynasty, takes on Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.

The vast district, which is among the hardest and encompasses almost two-thirds of the state, is ready for an exciting election show as tradition and celebrity collide.

Pratibha Singh, the mother of Vikramaditya, a member of the former Keonthal state royal family, is the current representative for this seat. She is a three-time Mandi MP.

Declining to re-enter the contest, she said that Vikramaditya’s name had been suggested by top party officials, who thought that “he’s young, energetic, and a good orator with influence over the youth and will be a good competitor for Kangana.”.

Jai Ram Thakur, a BJP politician and the first Himachal chief minister, was born and raised in the Mandi district. He is usually seen with Kangana at electoral gatherings and campaign events.

Virbhadra Singh, the father of Vikramaditya and a veteran of the Congress, has long used Mandi as a political battlefield. Singh served as chief minister six times. Virbhadra Singh initially entered the Lok Sabha in 1962 and again in 1967, when he won the Mahasu parliamentary seat. In 1971, he moved to the Mandi constituency and achieved victory. Nevertheless, he was re-elected from the constituency in 1980 and 2009 after losing the seat in 1977.

Kangana is a resident of Bhambla village, which is 200 kilometers from Shimla, the state capital, and close to Hamirpur town. She is the owner of a cottage in the Mandi parliamentary constituency, which is located near the gorgeous tourist destination of Manali.

In addition to the tribal-dominated Kinnaur, Lahaul, and Spiti districts, as well as Kullu, Mandi, and portions of the districts of Chamba and Shimla, the state’s other three constituencies are Shimla (reserved), Kangra, and Hamirpur, which will have elections on June 1.
