Kerala: The CPM has released the names of the 15 LS seats

Former ministers K K Shailaja and TM Thomas Isaac were among the candidates declared by the CPI-M, a part of the Left Front that is now in power in Kerala, on Tuesday for the state’s fifteen Lok Sabha seats.

On Monday, the CPI, the Left Front’s second-largest faction, unveiled its four candidates for the Lok Sabha seats. An additional Left Front member, Kerala Congress (MO), has already declared their candidate for the Kottayam seat.

At a news conference held here, M V Govindan, the state secretary of CPI-M, revealed the names of the candidates. He was full of optimism that the Left Front would win all twenty seats. According to Govindan, the Rahul Gandhi factor is absent this time around, which had assisted the Congress party in winning a sizable number of seats in the 2019 elections.

According to the list, former minister Thomas Isaac will run in Patahanamthitta, while KK Shylaja, a former minister of health, will run from the Vatakara seat.

The Kollam seat, which is now held by senior legislator and RSP leader N K Premachandran, has been nominated for actor-turned-MLA M Mukesh, while MLA V Joy will run for the Attingal seat.

Alappuzha seat MP A M Arif is planning to run for reelection, while trade union leader and Rajya Sabha member Elamaram Kareem will run from Kozhikode. K Radhakrishnan, the Devaswom Minister, will run from Alathur.

A Vijayaraghavan of the CPI-M Politburo, former MP Joyce George for Idukki, K J Shine for Ernakulam, former minister C Raveendranath for Chalakudy, DYFI leader V Vaseef for Malappuram, K S Hamsa for Ponnani, party district secretary M V Jayarajan for Kannur, and senior leader M V Balakrishnan for Kasaragod are among the other candidates.
