LS Speaker Issues Warning to BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri for Remark Against BSP’s Danish Ali; Oppn Demands Strict Action

Ramesh Bidhuri, a BJP member of parliament, made some offensive statements on Friday, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took “serious note” of them and threatened him with “strict action” if he did so again. Bidhuri’s comments criticizing Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) member Kunwar Danish Ali during a discussion on the “success of Chandrayaan-3” in the Lok Sabha on Thursday sparked a huge uproar, with opposition leaders seeking stern action against him.

How Political Party Leaders Reacted to Bidhuri’s Remark is seen below.

– Congress asked that Bidhuri be removed from the House after strongly objecting to his comments. The statements, according to Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh, were an insult to all MPs, and the Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s apology was insufficient and nothing more than an eyewash. Further, he requested that the BJP MP take strong measures.

– “Ramesh Bidhuri should be severely censured for what he stated about Danish Ali. It is less, the more it is criticized. Rajnath Singh, the defence minister, has apologized, but that is not enough. Such terminology has never been used before. Neither within nor outside of the Parliament should this language be used. Not only Danish Ali, but all of us, are being insulted by this.Bidhuri’s remarks and actions set the tone for the new Parliament. This demonstrates the BJP’s aims. Bidhuri claims that the BJP’s purpose is to…I believe that he should be suspended, and the worst penalty possible should be applied to him, the Congressman was reported as saying by the news agency ANI.

Sanjay Singh, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) lawmaker, said that the BJP was involved in hooliganism since Bidhuri’s comment was made in a goon and mafia-like manner. “They (the BJP) engage in hooliganism. Ramesh Bidhuri speaks a goon’s language, the mafia, while he is inside the House. He insulted and called a revered MP terrorists… All opposition MPs are insulted by Danish Ali’s remark. I was suspended after bringing up the Manipur problem; why is he not being dealt with?He has to be dealt with, Singh said ANI.

Priyanka Chaturvedi, a Rajya Sabha member of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray), also took issue with Bidhuri’s remarks towards BSP MP Danish Ali.

“A BJP legislator used derogatory words at BSP colleague @KDanishAli in the House. No more humiliation. It’s disgusting,” she said in a post on X.

Earlier, in the Lok Sabha, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh apologized for “objectionable” comments made by a BJP member that caused a stir. The defence minister stated, “I express remorse if the words expressed by the member are offensive to the opposition.
