Maharashtrans Have Supported the NDA Mostly in the 2024 Lok Sabha Election, According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is a member of the governing coalitions in Maharashtra, has increased Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s campaigning efforts there, according to an exclusive interview that he gave to Rishi Darda.

The prime minister has already hosted 14 rallies in Maharashtra, and he may hold up to 17 or 18 more in the near future—double the nine rallies he conducted in 2019. The PM has held more than ten rallies in Maharashtra so far, and this figure may soon rise to 17 or 18, which would be twice the PM’s nine rallies in 2019. Political observers note that there is a perception on the ground that the original factions of Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar enjoy public sympathy in these elections, and that the two new allies of the BJP in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar factions remain untested in the electoral arena thus far.

The prime minister thanked the people of Maharashtra for their steadfast support of his administration in a special conversation with Rishi Darda, joint managing director and editorial director of Lokmat Media Group. “The development-oriented vision of the NDA has received tremendous support from the people of Maharashtra. I have strived to support the people’s faith via programs that improve the welfare of the populace, and I am really appreciative of their benefits. He went on to say that the opening of the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur, the Vande Bharat chair vehicle maintenance/workshop depot in Pune, and the wagon repair workshop in Badnera are all contributing to the nation’s economic self-sufficiency by giving young people employment. The people of India are grateful for the efforts made to improve their quality of life, especially after the completion of the Atal Setu, one of the country’s longest sea bridges.

The Uddhav Thackeray-led administration fell in June 2022 when Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and forty other MLAs rebelled against the party’s leadership and defected to the BJP. When well-known figures like Ajit Pawar and Chhagan Bhujbal sided with the state’s governing BJP in 2023, the NCP also experienced a rift. In an attempt to challenge the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) has now joined the recently created India bloc. With 48 Lok Sabha seats, Maharashtra has the second-largest number after Uttar Pradesh. The BJP, running in coalition with the Shiv Sena, won 23 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 elections.
